When it comes to makeup, eyeshadow was my first thing to dabble in. I found it so easy to find great products at an affordable price. I preferred purchasing makeup as opposed to any other type of makeup such as foundation or concealer. I like how you can pretty much wear whatever shade you want, and by swatching you can tell whether you like it or not. In my collection, I probably have more eyeshadows than anything else. So here’s the low down…
CREAM
If you’ve been an avid reader of my blog, you’ll know
that the Maybelline Colour Tattoo has been a firm favourite of mine for a
couple years straight. The shade On&On Bronze is my favourite of all of
them. It’s the most neutral of them all and the formula of these shadows is one
to be reckoned with. It’s one that sets really nicely and can be used as a base
or to be incorporated into a smokey eye.
MATTE
I don’t have many matte eyeshadows in their single form;
most of them reside in my palettes. The Kevyn Aucoin shadow in Light Bone is a
matte creamy shade and works perfectly as a base to for any other eyeshadow to
blend into it. Not to mention, the clicky packaging is extremely satisfying

MOUSSE
I was toying between this and the Maybelline Colour
Tattoo for the cream shadow. I really wanted to incorporate both of them, so I
rectified this by creating an entirely new category for the Max Factor ExcessShimmer shadow in Bronze. It’s not quite a cream shadow, but more of a mousse.
This shade in particular has an orangey undertone and is perfect for a simple,
understated everyday look!
PIGMENT
I haven’t dabbled in pigments too much, because for the
most part, they’re messy and time consuming. Hence why I like the L’OrealColour Infallible semi pressed pigment. With this product, you get the pros of
a pigment, without the cons. It’s not messy at all and can be used both wet and
dry, depending on how intense you want it.
PENCIL
There have been many eyeshadow pencils launched over the
past year or so. Out of the ones I’ve tried, the Max Factor Wild Shadow Pencil
in Caramel Rage has to be my fave! It’s a nice cool toned taupe shade and is
extremely cooling on the lids. This product is perfect for a quick everyday look as
it sets really quickly and doesn’t budge throughout the entire day.
PRIMER
For a long time, I stood by the Urban Decay Primer
Potion, until I started using the Laura Mercier Eye Canvas, which quickly took
its place. The Laura Mercier Eye Canvas in EC5 is a nice salmony pink shade,
which counteracts any darkness on the eye. The consistency is nice and thick
which somewhat creates a barrier between the oil (on your eyelids) and the
eyeshadow, therefore increasing the longevity.
PALETTE
When it came to this category, I was torn between the
Smashbox Full Exposure Palette and the L’Oreal La Palette Nude. When I really
thought about it, I had to opt for the L’Oreal La Palette Nude in Rose as it’s
been my go-to palette for a long time now. I love how the colours are warm
toned and there are shades for both day and night.
