    THE BEST FOUNDATION FOR...

When it comes to foundations, everyone has different preferences, skin types and problems with their skin whether it be acne, oil control, pigmentation or dehydration. I'm no makeup expert but I have tried my fair share of foundations and bases and I've compiled a little document to impart my opinions on the best foundations for various different categories.

The Best Foundation For... CLEAR SKIN - The Body Shop BB CreamMost people who have clear (and in my eyes perfect) skin, they don't want to clog up their skin with lists of heavy base products. The Body Shop BB Cream is perfect as it blurs the fine line between makeup and skincare. Being a BB Cream means the skin is benefitting as well as looking nice. This base is nice and sheer and allows the skin to breathe and continue to look nice and healthy.

The Best Foundation For... A SHEER FINISH - MAC Face and BodyThis is one of my absolute favourites foundations. I love how this is such a lightweight product with very little coverage as it makes the skin look really natural with a sheer, dewy finish. The great thing about this foundation is that can easily be built up to a medium coverage without looking cakey, therefore making it a versatile base. It's great for those who want a sheer finish as it keeps the skin looking nice and clear, but more perfected!

The Best Foundation For... OILY SKIN - Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless: For those with oily skin, oil control is often a problem. The Maybelline Fit Me is the base that I have found that I don't need to powder as much as other bases. This foundation mattifies the skin but still gives it a really natural finish. It's not too heavy on the skin, however even though it does mattify the skin, there's still an elect of luminosity to the skin!

The Best Foundation For... DRY SKIN - Nars Pure Radiant Tinted MoisturiserWith this product being a tinted moisturiser, it means that one of the important elements of this product is that it hydrates the skin. I have combination skin so I do have dry areas on my face. I don't find that this accentuates those dry areas or makes them worse. It's just somewhat sits on my face and works well on the dry and oil areas as it does control the oilier areas on my face too.

The Best Foundation For... A FULL COVERAGE - L'Oreal Infallible Pro MatteDespite this foundation being marketed as a medium coverage foundation, I find it to be that of a full coverage as it's quite thick in consistency. When I use this product, I don't really need to put on any concealer as it covers all of my blemishes, pigmentation and under eye circles. Although it's more on the full coverage side, it's not heavy or irritating on the face.

The Best Foundation For... AN ALL ROUNDER - Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk: I've been using for a couple years now and I always go back to it. It's a great all rounder foundation as it has a demi-matte finish and has a lightweight consistency. It's that of a medium coverage and therefore can be built up by using a dense foundation brush or tamed down to a lighter coverage by using a duo fibre brush.

    What's your favourite foundation?
