Fashion is something constantly
evolving, however fashion trends are something that has a tendency to come back
around. I’ve picked out some trends that are absolute timeless classics that
will never go out of style. When it comes to purchasing items, I personally
think investing in classic pieces rather than fad items. Investing means
different things to different people – to one person, it may mean spending £45
on jeans in Topshop and to another person it may mean spending £200 in
Diesel. As with anything, you’re not
necessarily going to like everything, just because it’s a timeless piece, for
example I’m not a fan of animal print, but I guess we take everything with a
pinch of salt!

THE WHITE SHIRT & TROUSER
An easy to wear outfit is the classic white shirt and trousers. You can
determine how formal or informal it is depending on how you style and
incorporate different elements into it. For a more casual look, you could swap
the fitted trousers for a pair of jeans – swap the large bag for a clutch and
chuck on a statement necklace and you’re ready to go! It’s so versatile and is
one that I’ve personally worn for nights out and even a job interview (and I
got the job btw). It’s a basic essential wardrobe outfit, but one that can be
adapted to various different styles and preferences.

THE ANIMAL PRINT
This isn’t one I have personally jumped
on the bandwagon with, but it’s most definitely one I can appreciate,
particularly when subtly incorporated. Leopard
print is one of the most renowned forms of animal print, although one that
is often downplayed is zebra print.
Incorporating animal print doesn’t have to be garish enough to make you looking
like Kat Slater, but by injecting pops of it in a relatively neutral outfit
makes it the focal point whilst not being in your face and overbearing.

THE OVERSIZED ACCESSORY
When it comes to accessories, oversized sunglasses are one of those
that will always be in style whether it was 20 years ago or in 20 years to
come. There’s nothing better than throwing on a pair of huge shades when you
can’t be bothered to do a full face of makeup and want to let your skin
breathe. This is one of my favourite timeless trends and there’s something chic
about an oversized accessory – very Victoria Beckham esque! My current
favourite pair of sunglasses is from Miu Miu and I’ve also been a huge fan over
sized prescription glasses too! On the subject of oversized accessories, adding
an oversized bag to the equation is
not only trendy, but also practical. If you’re someone who wants to appear
smaller, this is a perfect way to do that as it’s said that having an oversized
bag can make you appear smaller than you are!

THE TAILORED FIT
There’s nothing worse than have
ill-fitting clothes and the tailored fit is another one of those pieces that
would fit in everyone’s outfit. The bare skeleton of this is a fitted blazer. This is another
versatile piece that can be transformed depending on the occasion albeit with a
plain crew or V-neck tee for a casual vibe or a fitted shirt. The second part
to this fit is tailored trousers of
which there are many variations starting off with the pinstripe trouser suit
and the cigarette trousers etc. Pairing such an outfit with a simple pair of
court heels or smart ballerina flats, a smart top and smart bag really finishes
off this outfit.

THE ‘DO
There are many hair do’s that will never
go out of style, however one of my favourites has got to be the short bob. Ever since Rihanna’s
signature look back in ’07 I’ve always loved this hairstyle! This is another
trend that can be switched up depending on your preference whether it be a
change in parting, straight or curly, the cut and much more (at the end of the
day, I’m not a hairdresser by any means).
What’s your favourite trend?
