Netflix tends to go through good and bad
times when it comes to its offerings, however recently, it’s had some really
good shows to watch and I’ve been watching it like a hawk! I love Netflix, particularly
in the colder months when I want to binge-watch a show in the evenings
especially as it automatically moves onto the next episode – a lazy girls best
friend!
Switched at Birth
Just as the title suggests, it’s about
two teenage girls who were switched at birth and meet each other’s families to
get to know their biological parents. As you can imagine, both children have
had very different upbringings and the parents have to try and parent both
girls without overstepping the mark. It also has typical teenage issues, such
as relationships, jobs and just growing up and finding themselves. There are
about five seasons and I watched three of them on my latest holiday to Madeira,
as I couldn’t get enough of it. It’s not one of those shows that you can have
on in the background and dip in and out of as it involves quite a few deaf
characters who use sign language and therefore has subtitles, but at the same
time it doesn’t need lots of deep concentration. If you like 90210, you’ll like
this as it’s on the same American TV show realm.
Amanda Knox
I ended up watching this after pretty
much every one on my course raved it about. It’s somewhat a whodunit film about
an alleged premeditated murder of a young girl who shared a house with two
other people in Paris. There are so many loopholes and stories that don’t
wholly add up. It’s really interesting from a journalistic point of view, seeing
the media and how the events were reported etc.
The Goodwife
After a couple of months of watching
this as and when, I finally watched the last episode. Long story short, it’s
about a mother who returns to work as a lawyer after taking out 11 years to
look after her two children. One of my favourite things about this show is that
pretty much every episode has a different court case and has a little insight
into the investigation and resolution of the case and there are some ongoing
issues too!
Narcos
I feel like everyone and their nans are
watching Narcos and with good reason too! It’s about Pablo Escobar, the
notorious Columbian drug lord who has the Drug Enforcement Agency hunting him
down. It’s fascinating seeing what goes on in drug cartels and the risk and
danger of all those involved.
What shows do you love at the moment?!
My sister just watched the Amanda Knox documentary and I love those types of programmes. Love Narcos too, but haven't heard of Switched at Birth. Great post xxx
